Pavement Markings
The Engineering and Public Services Department handles pavement markings issues on public roadways, public parking lots, and other City facilities, with the exception of some state trunklines such as US-24 and I-75. Maintenance and replacement of existing markings falls under the Engineering Department, as a contract for refreshing and replacement of markings is bid each year.
To report an issue, click the link below. For signage issues on US-24, please contact the Monroe County Road Commission at 734-240-5100, and for issues on I-75, MDOT should be contacted at their Brighton office at 810-227-4681.
For new markings or a change in regulations such as lane usage, City Council approval is usually necessary. These requests are routed through the Mayor’s Traffic Committee, which will review and refer items to the City Council for approval. To place an item on the Traffic Committee agenda, please contact the Engineering Department for further information.
