Monroe City Hall Offices Open By Appointment Only
Effective TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2020, City Hall will remain open by APPOINTMENT ONLY to all business other than in-person payments. Please note, we will not be closed, but access to the public will be limited to in-person payments and scheduled appointments only. No walk-ins will be accepted with the exception of residents/customers seeking to pay their taxes and utility bills at the Clerk/Treasurer's Office.
These changes were implemented as a preventative measure taking into account possible COVID-19 infections rising during the upcoming holiday, and will remain in effect until further notice depending on community spread. This decision was not made lightly, and takes into consideration the health and safety of our staff, residents, and visitors.
Please note the following:
- In-person appointments will be reserved for requests that can't be handled over the phone, through email, or virtually via the city’s web site.
- Emergency operations will remain unaffected by this change.
- Please utilize the city’s website, www.monroemi.gov, for payment processing, form submissions, virtual meeting information, general inquiries, etc.
- Please utilize our drop box located in the parking lot adjacent to the City Hall parking lot for payments, forms and applications that cannot be processed via our website. Please leave your name, phone number and address in case we need to contact you for additional information.
Residents and customers are encouraged to continue to utilize other methods of service beyond our in-person counter experience such as the drop box, email, website, and phone. We understand this temporary closure will undoubtedly cause inconveniences and disruptions to those who use City Hall services, and we are committed to working with our residents under these trying conditions.
