Volunteer Tree Planting Event
Saturday morning, September 19th from 8:45 AM – 12:00 PM
Make a difference in a few hours that can last decades! ReLeaf Michigan, a non-profit tree organization, is planting 15 trees along the River Raisin Heritage Trail in Monroe on Saturday, September 19th, with funding from the DTE Foundation and in collaboration with the City of Monroe.
Volunteers are asked to sign up as a ‘family’ or a ‘team’ of 3 or 4 friends who have been socially distancing together. Masks are required. Volunteers are asked to wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing and bring a shovel and gardening gloves if they have them. ReLeaf Michigan’s tree experts will be there to help volunteers and oversee the event.
Event occurs rain or shine (we’re a hearty group!). No planting experience is necessary, and families are encouraged. Join us for the morning and leave an environmental legacy that will add to the beauty of your community for generations. We hope to see you there!
Trees provide incredible benefits to the communities in which they are planted. Trees improve air and water quality, reduce stormwater runoff, improve mental wellness, reduce rates of childhood asthma, cool our neighborhoods and enhance the commercial and economic vitality.
